Welcome!
There
is a new church in northeast Ankeny! Some time ago we
realized that there was only one church in the northeast
quadrant of our growing community. Consequently, a group
of people from several churches in the area began meeting
on Wednesday evenings to study the Bible, pray, and plan
for a new church. Community Baptist Church is the result.
Let our name introduce us to you.
Community
We
are glad to be part of the growing community of Ankeny.
If you are like us, each time you leave town you are amazed
at how fast the city is expanding. It is a unique experience
to live in an area that is growing before your eyes. The
growth in size is accompanied by multiplication of economic,
social, educational, and recreational services. Community
Baptist looks forward to serving you right here in your
own neighborhood as well.
We
also are a community. Even in a thriving city like Ankeny,
with all it has to offer, it is easy to feel alone. Community
Baptist is designed to be a community within a community.
Our desire is to provide an atmosphere where your needs
will be met. In ourselves, we do not have all the answers,
but our great God and His Word, the Bible, do provide the
answers to all of life's greatest questions. We would
love to share God's perspective with you and help
you establish a sure foundation to face any circumstance
in life.
Baptist
No,
we do not believe that Baptists are the only ones going
to heaven! We do believe in heaven, though. The primary
belief of Baptists is that, since the Bible is God's
Word, it must be the guide for our beliefs and practice.
The Bible teaches us how to live and how to value what
is eternal. It also teaches us how to have a right relationship
with God that produces a life of real joy on earth and
perfect contentment forever with God.
Church
Ankeny
offers many resources that address physical, social, educational,
and recreational needs. In the midst of all of this, we
are committed to doing what churches are designed to do
best: we exist to meet spiritual needs. There are many
other benefits that result from our ministry, but our priority
is the spiritual. The Gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ
is the heart of what we need spiritually.
